Major public and private donors achieved a milestone in global health at GAVI's first pledging conference in London, committing funding to immunise more than 250 million of the world's poorest children against life-threatening diseases by 2015.

  • UK Prime Minister David Cameron kicked-off GAVIÕs first pledging conference by pledging an additional GBP£ 814 million pounds of funding to help the GAVI Alliance roll-out vaccines against pneumococcal disease and rotavirus diarrhoea.
