MINISTER OF HEALTH, LAO PEOPLE's DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
Bounfeng Phoummalaysith, Lao PDR, was appointed as Minister of Health in March 2021. He has held a number of positions within the Ministry of Health since 1990, most recently as Vice Minister of Health. In 2016, Minister Phoummalaysith played an important role as the Secretariat for an International Symposium on Health Systems Strengthening and Sustainable Financing towards Universal Health Coverage, which was held in Vientiane.
Minister Phoummalaysith holds a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree from Alma Ata, Kazakhstan as well as a Master of Sciences degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Administration, both from Nagoya University, Japan
